RALEIGH — An Amtrak train filled with passengers hit and killed a man in Raleigh Friday night. It happened around 9:00 p.m. near the North Carolina State University campus.
Police say a Hispanic man in his thirties was hit while walking on the tracks. The engineer driving the eastbound train said he saw the man, blew his horn and tried to stop.
Investigators closed the tracks for well over an hour. The identity of the victim has not been released.
