Robbers Have Sartorial Interests

RALEIGH — Athletic clothing worn by two teens was of keyinterest to robbers Saturday night, who ordered them to hand over theirNike sweatshirt and shoes. The theft occurred outside a Raleighconvenience store.

The teens, ages 15 and 17, told police they often shop at the store,but rarely do so at night because it is badly lighted.

Saturday night, as the teens left the store with their snacks, tworobbers with a rifle came out of the shadows. They asked one teen hisshoe size, and then ordered him to turn over the Nike Scottie Pippen athletic shoes he was wearing. The other victim was ordered to surrenderhis Nike sweatshirt. Their wallets were also taken.

One of the suspects was caught about 11 p.m. at a nearby apartment.

The robbery occurred outside the In and Out convenience store at Creechand Sanderford Roads.
