Slick Roads Possibly to Blame for 440 Accident
Posted December 27, 1997
RALEIGH — Rain soaked roads made for dangerous driving Saturday. Officers found a truck cab upside down in a ditch on the Wade Avenue exit off the beltline.
Fifty-year-old James Caldwell apparently made a sharp turn and lost control of his truck. Rescue crews worked for nearly an hour to free Caldwell from the cab.
He was taken to Wake Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Police believe high speed and wet roads are to blame for the crash.
