Last Minute Shopping includes Rush for Food

WILSON — The holidays are a time for family, friends and food. But not everyone has the time to cook a gourmet meal.If you're still hustling to find a meal you -don't- have to cook, you'llbe glad to know there are plenty of places that will sell you one!

For those of us with lesser culinary skills, heading to themarket is the way to go. Many grocery stores are open all day.Most sell prepared meals -- cooked turkeys and hamsand all the fixings -- ready to eat.

There's still time to reserve a prepared meal at stores across the Triangle.For thousands of shoppers, local restaurants like Boston Market andHoney Baked Hams are a great source for that holiday meal. Employees are working overtime to meet the demand.

No matter what you and your family eat, it's probably available somewhereright now. That's especially helpful to people, like Mark Bissette, whoare too busy or tired to be tied down to the oven.

At the Harris Teeter in Wilson, cakes and breads are going as fast asthey're being made. BakerTricia Crouse say things should slow downafter today, but for the next few hours, life as they know it, is stuck infast forward.

Places like Honey-baked Ham and Boston Market will be taking orders for full meals until later today. You're encouraged to call ahead and reserve yourmeal.
