RALEIGH — Defense lawyers for the man accused of killing a Raleighpolice officersay their client can't get a fair trial here.
Investigators say Kawame Mays shot and killed Detective Paul Hale, backin July.
Lawyers for Mays are scheduled to go before a judge Monday to ask fora change of venue.
They say media coverage at the time of the Hale's death will bias alocal jury.
