HENDERSON — Law enforcement officials in Vance Countyhad to leave a parade route and leap into action Saturday. The pilot of aCessna 172 crashed the plane while trying to land it at the Oxford-Henderson Airport.
The crash, which occurred about a quarter of a mile north of theairport, was very close to the site of the Henderson Christmas parade,which was underway at the time.
Rescue crews were able to save the pilot and a passenger who wereon their way in from Pennsylvania. Both were able to walk away from thecrash.
