The students gathered at center stage Sunday afternoon to practicetheir show. Show producer Stephen Barefoot says the show is a greatshowcase for the children.

Student Alison Mendys says this is an important event for her.
While all agree it's fun, most say it's also a lot of hard work puttingthe show together -- especially with just one day to practice getting itall right.
There will also be an auction of trees decorated by local students.
The students will be the opening act for no less than theRadio City Music Hall Rockettes, who will also be strutting their stuff.
Light Up Durham gets underway Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Durham BullsAthletic Park. The gates open at 6:30 p.m..
