RALEIGH — Looking directly into a video camera behind the lobby desk, a man robbed the Fairfield Inn just off Capital Boulevard Sunday night.

The man said he knew he was being taped, then told the clerk he had a gun in his pocket. He initially ordered her to hand over cash, but then leaped over the 4-foot counter to grab $116 and then leave.

Police are looking for a black man about 30 years old. He is about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighs between 150 and 180 pounds.
