Kids Can Shop Without Mom and Dad
Posted November 29, 1997
DURHAM — Christmas is just a few weeks away. And that means everyone's looking for the special gift for that special someone.
Now there's a store where children can shop without grown-up around. Small children can shop for their parents without Mom and Dad hovering over them at the Kid's Market at Northgate Mall in Durham. Volunteers from the Duke Hospital Auxiliary help the kids with their shopping.
Volunteers work as sales clerks, helping kids find the right gift, at the right "kids" price. Just like Mom or Dad, some kids pick out gifts they know they'll get a chance to use later on.
It's a store where kids can't go wrong... they're guaranteed to find the right gift for everyone.
All the money the kids spend benefits Duke Children's Hospital. The Kid's Market is open now through Christmas Eve. You can contact the store at 919-286-4407.
