MOUNT HOLLY — It couldn't be a worse time for theNorth Carolina food stamp system to fail, but it appears some families inGaston County may go hungry this Thanksgiving.
Dozens of people in Mount Holly have yet to receive their food stampsfor this month. The stamps were shipped from a distribution center inRaleigh, but no one knows what happened to them after that.
They could be re-issued, but that won't happen until the endof the month. For now, many families are turning to food banks to filltheir plates.
Volunteers at Mount Holly area food banks say they'll keep their doorsopen until they run out of food.
