Memorial Sought

Posted November 17, 1997

— The families of two Fayetteville friends who were shot to death in a racially motivated attack want to make sure no one forgets the deaths.

Jackie Burden and Michael James were gunned down as they walked on a city street.

Their families want a memorial erected as a reminder of the shooting.

Two Fort Bragg soldiers were convicted in the murders, and a third pleaded guilty to conspiracy.
