FAYETTEVILLE — Some dismaying thoughts, brought to you by the Fayetteville police and the N.C. Highway Patrol, about the possible condition of the driver and vehicle in the lane next to you.
They combined forces to set up a routine sobriety checkpoint for four hours overnight. From 11 p.m. until 3 a.m. they arrested 19 people on DWI charges, which they say is a high number.
In addition, officers wrote 130 citations for everything from traffic violations to narcotics charges.
The checkpoint was set up at the intersection of Bragg Boulevard and Bargain Street.
