When you say Halloween, you often think of scary ghosts and goblins, aswell as nighttime trick or treating. But for a lot of Triangle kids,Halloween is a daytime activity minus the scare.
A lot of parents don't like their kids out at night going door to doortrick or treating, so there are alternatives. Kids Town in Cary offeredtwo parties, pumpkin painting, a little candy and a lot of fun.
For many, it was their first Halloween. And at Kids Town, there wasn't asingle scary element.
"We don't want to scare them," says Kids Town owner Esin Atakturk. "Wewant it to be about safety and not scary things."
Instead of carving jack-'o-lanterns, they were busy painting pumpkins. Tomake it official, there was a costume parade and candy.
If you're kids aren't taking the traditional trick or treat trip aroundthe neighborhood, there are plenty of other controlled activities going onaround the Triangle.
