People lined up early Thursday night for the milestone in Fayetteville history. After seven years and $55 million, it was time to show off the Crown. Cumberland County's new coliseum isn't quite finished yet, but people said they liked what they saw.
The evening began with a ribbon cutting and a lot of pats on the back. Then, the Fayetteville Force took the ice. The players dished out many hard hits and the fans loved it, but not as much as they loved the goals.
The official attendance wasn't anywhere near a sell-out, but 4,000 were in attendance for the opening.
