— The president of a company that handles pallets for industry died Thursday when a forklift struck him while it was being unloaded from a truck, Apex police said.

Seth Marshburn, 29, of Holly Springs, was killed when the forklift overturned while coming off the truck at a building at 810 Lufkin Road. A spokesman for Henry Wurst Inc., a printing company that owns the property, said Apex Pallett rented the property there.

Marshburn was president of Apex Pallet Co., which buys and sells the platforms on which goods are stacked for shipping and removing them as a service for other businesses.

The accident happened about 4:45 p.m., officials said.

And he was LEGAL!!! His last name didn't end in ez. It's a real shame though. 29 is way too young to die.

I am deeply moved by the loss of this young man's life. It is important for those of you who have never operated a forklift to know one thing about things like this. Forklift accidents on a dock are almost always caused by acts of carelessness. Without even knowing the circumstances of this matter I am confident that has this man been more careful and paid better attention to his circumstances, he would still be with us. I do not say this to cause further pain, but to let all you out there know that safety literally is no accident. The rules, if lived by, will save you.

colliedave why are you so ignorant? i went to highschool with seth and i am grateful for this news article because i am not close to his family and wouldn't have known if i hadn't seen it. you should think before you post about the feelings of others, including his family and friends who maybe lost touch over the years. i hope nothing like this ever happens to you. seth, you will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
