RALEIGH — You're bound to have heard the original tune, and are probably familiar with state's fall version: "Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina at fair time." The state fair kicks off this Friday, and the biggest, most incredible fair ride of all time is waiting for you. 

It's called the Top Spin, and it is the most expensive fair ride the James E. Strates show has ever purchased. It can be had for $1.8 million, but you can rent a seat on it for a few minutes for $5.60. 

John Strates told WRAL-TV5's Bob Langford that riders will get a lot of tossing and turning for their money. 

The ride was made in Germany and is one of only four currently in the United States. Strates says it is theonlyone that's coming to a fair near you. 

It also, he says, comes with its own nickname 

Might be a ride to trybeforepartaking of the hot dogs, colossal onions and funnel cakes!
