You don't think of Lochmere, with its lovely homes, as a place wherethis kind of crime happens. Someone is breaking into these homes very quietlywhile parents and children sleep. The rash of burglaries has residentsconcerned.
Residents passed out fliers warning about what happened. Burglars enterthrough basements or garages where they find unlocked doors leading intothe homes. Valuables from televisions and computers to checks have beentaken.
Crimestoppers of Cary passed out fliers in the affected neighborhoodsoffering a reward and urging precaution. Cary police said the fact thatthe nighttime burglaries are happening in occupied homes is very serious.
Police have few clues but have recovered an all-terrain vehicle in thearea and have reports of a suspicious white pickup truck seen in Lochmere.
