FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police are searching for suspects in the murder of a man who apparently tried to be a good Samaritan.
Investigators say 21-year-old John Kraus was doing yard work Monday when he spotted an attempted robbery and went to help. After realizing he was in over his head, police said Kraus fled on foot, but was shot in the back as he ran along Spaulding Street.
Four or five suspects then sped off in an older model Bronco or Explorer. Police are searching for the suspects.
