CARY — Just hours after two Fayetteville lawmen were laid to rest, two more NorthCarolina officers had a scare of their own during a routine traffic stopbetween Cary and Apex.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. Friday night, two unidentified Wake Countysheriff's deputies pulled over a car at the corner of Stephenson andGoolsby Streets. That's when the people inside tried to flee.
After a chase and struggle, both officers suffered minor injuries. WRALis told both officers were taken to Wake Medical Center, one with a kneeinjury; the other, with a head injury from blunt trauma.
The driver of the car was apprehended and arrested at the scene. No wordyet on the whereabouts of the other person or persons who tried to flee.Officers say no shots were fired during the altercation.
