State Offers Help With Tree Planting

RALEIGH — If you're still filling in the bald spots fromHurricane's Fran and Bertha, the state wants to help. The North CarolinaDivision of Forest Resources is offering federal money to help stateresidents replace trees lost to the storms.

In order to qualify, you must be a forest land-owner and show proofthat your property was damaged by one or both of the hurricanes. Ifapproved, you'll be reimbursed up to 40 percent for all the trees youplant.
