State Offers Help With Tree Planting
Posted September 22, 1997
RALEIGH — If you're still filling in the bald spots from Hurricane's Fran and Bertha, the state wants to help. The North Carolina Division of Forest Resources is offering federal money to help state residents replace trees lost to the storms.
In order to qualify, you must be a forest land-owner and show proof that your property was damaged by one or both of the hurricanes. If approved, you'll be reimbursed up to 40 percent for all the trees you plant.
