APEX — The Apex planning board voted unanimously to deny plans for a proposedshopping center and apartment complex. However, the Apex Town Council mayoverturn that decision at a meeting Tuesday.
The proposed building site is next to a residential neighborhood. Residents and the developer met with the planning board Monday night to discuss theissue. Supporters said the shopping center would be convenient, othersargued the project would bring too much traffic to an already congestedand narrow road.
