DURHAM — For years developers have stayed away from downtown Durham but a groundbreaking Monday, coupled with several other projects in the works could mean a big turnaround in the Bull City.
They may not be digging for gold, but Diamond View could turn out to be a real gem in downtown Durham. Capitol Broadcasting's 90,000-square-foot office building is expected to be ready within a year.
According to Capitol Broadcasting President Jim Goodmon, Durham is ready for some downtown development.
City leaders say they hopes more developers are ready to play ball downtown.
The bad news is workers had to dig up 38 trees to make way for the Diamond View building. The good news is the trees are being donated to the Durham Housing Authority.
