Investigators from the Wake County Sheriff's Department and Cary Policeleft for Charlotte at midnight Friday. Going on a tip thesuspect was a delivery man originating in the Queen City, authoritiesfound the suspect's house and got pictures of him. Friday, they showedthose pictures to the victims. Hours later, Trott turned himself in.He's been charged with seven counts of making indecent liberties with a minor.
It was on July 15th that a young girl was attacked on Laura Duncan Road inCary. Later that same day, another girl was molested on Connors Circle. Cary Police released a sketch of a man about 20 years old with longbrown hair pulled back in a ponytail.
The victims say the man was driving a white work van. On Tuesday, anotheryoung girl was attacked in Wake County, just outside Cary. That same day,two young girls in Durham told police they were molested near South SquareMall.
All four cases involved a man matching the description of the "Caryflasher."
Authorities tell WRAL the media played a large role in capturing thesuspect because of the photo and broadcast of his composite sketch. Localresidents who saw the sketch commented to officers how much a wholesaledelivery man from Charlotte looked like the man in the sketch.
That attention, officers believe, may have prompted Trott to turn himselfin. Trott is behind bars at the Wake County jail, secured under $700,000bond.
