Raleigh Police have arrested the man they believe killed a 15-year-old Raleigh girl. Police say William Burford, 23, walked in to police headquarters around 1 p.m.Monday and turned himself in.

Burford is charged with one count of first degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 15-year-old Arthesia Necole Jones. Her body was found in an East Street apartment Saturday morning. Burford also faces one count of assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the wounding of a man two days earlier.

Police say they had just received a tip about Burford's whereabouts when he walked in. They say they had received many calls about him since they announced they were looking for him.

Jones' family is reportedly unable to pay for her funeral expenses, so theNecole Jones Burial Trust Fundhas been established. To donate, send checks or money orders toBB&T Bank, 434 Fayetteville St. Mall, Raleigh, NC, 27601. Payments can also be made in person at any BB&T branch office.
