DURHAM — After a year in a state mental hospital a convicted child molestor will now stand trial for taking indecent liberties with minors.
The charges against Rex Haislip stem from incidents last July when Durham police accused him of improper contact with 3 school girls.
Doctors at Dorothea Dix Hospital have concluded Haislip is competent to stand trial. There will be competency hearing next month.
