ATLANTA — Governor Jim Hunt was honored Saturday for what the National EducationAssociation calls his dedication to improving the lives of Children.
Hunt was awarded the NEA's Friend of Education Award in Atlanta,Georgia. The award, Hunt says, is a reminder of North Carolina's hard work.
Previous winners include President Lyndon Johnson, Supreme Court JusticeThurgood Marshall and teacher-astronaut Christa McAuliffe.
