DURHAM — A retired Durham police officer says he did not kill a prostitute. Broadus Crabtree proclaimed his innocence Tuesday in a Durham courtroom.
Crabtree is charged with beating a woman to death in January. Investigators say they're looking at the possibility he may be linked to other unsolved murders.
Crabtree spent 16-years on the Durham police force before retiring three years ago for medical reasons.
