Grades Matter to IBM

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — High school grads need to take note. Computer giant IBM now wants your four-year high school transcript included in an application for a job.
IBM says a student's academic performance matters. In a new policy, the company plans to hire graduates who worked hard, not those who only scrimped by.
In the past, IBM only checked to see that an applicant received a diploma. Course grades were not checked.
