Preliminary Results Show Johnston Students Above Average

— The school year is wrapping up for most North Carolina students Friday, but In Johnston County, school leaders are also getting results of end-of-grade test scores.

Preliminary numbers look good. They show fourth-graders ahead of the state average with 77 percent of students scoring at-or-above grade level in reading and 83 percent above average in math.

Seventh-graders also beat the average scoring 74 percent proficiency in reading and 79 percent in math.
