Game at Duke Ends in Violence

DURHAM — A pickup basketball game on a court at DukeUniversity ended with one man being shot in the hand and leg. His injuriesare not life-threatening. Three men are being sought.

None of those involved is a Duke student, according to campus policeMajor Robert Dean.

Dean said a basketball game was underway at one of the campus's outdoorcourts when an argument erupted. One of the suspects got a gun from hiscar and fired twice at the victim.

The gunman and two others left the court area in a brown 1997 ToyotaCamry with Virginia license plates.

Dean identified one of the trio as Brian "B" Liles, who was a freshmanat N.C. Central University in 1996. A second man is called "Squirrel,"and the man who wielded the gun was described as a black man with lightcomplexion and Hispanic features.

The shooting victim was not identified.
