First Case of Rabies Found in Chapel Hill

Posted May 23, 1997

— The triangle's rabies problem continues to spread. Chapel Hill just confirmed its first case within town limits.

That's the second case of rabies to show up in southern Orange county this week.

Officials say, regardless of where you live, don't ever touch a wild or stray animal. If you see an animal you think has rabies, call your local animal control officer.
