FAYETTEVILLE — Pizza delivery drivers in Fayetteville are facing tough problems on the job. The drivers have become an increasingly frequent target of criminals. Sunday night, two robbers attacked a a driver with a sledgehammer and took his money.

Now pizza outlets are beginning to take more precautions. Many have installed Caller ID so they can call customers back to ensure the order is legitimate.

Pizza services want to get the word out that robbing delivery drivers isn't exactly a lucrative endeavor. Drivers usually carry less than $20 with them.
