Tyrell Beal, 20, whom policebelieve fired the shot that struck Jermaine, was arrested Thursday inWilmington and charged withassault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Police say they also found a gun they believe was the one used in theshooting.
The 4-year-old victim, Jermaine Huggins, was hit in the torso with abullet intended for 17-year-old Terrell Harris, who was standing nearby at thetime. Jermaine spent 13 days in intensive care and underwent threeoperations before he was released from the hospital. Community leaders andvolunteers raised money to help his family relocate to a saferneighborhood.
Harris turned himself in to police soon after the shooting. DavidAshley, 17, whom police say drove the Ford Taurus that sped away from the scene, was arrested May 8 for cocaine possession. He was later chargedwith assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting thatinjured Jermaine.
