FAYETTEVILLE — The Cumberland County school board may be looking for a lot more help next school year from local taxpayers.
A proposed budget, to be voted on tonight, calls for an extra six and a half million dollars in local funding. That's an 18-percent increase.
Administrators say they need the money for 80 new teaching positions and salary increases. After tonight's vote, the budget goes before the county commissioners.
