Teen Charged with Hiding Weapon that Killed his 4-Year-Old Brother

ROCKY MOUNT — Rocky Mount police have filed chargesagainst the teenaged brother of a 4-year-old who fatally wounded himselflast Monday. Jazmein Wiggins, 18, is charged with a misdemeanor count offailure to secure a weapon accessible to a minor.

Police say the gun belonged to someone else, but that Wiggins somehowobtained it and hid it in an ice chest in his family's back yard. Hisyounger brother Ajai Wiggins found the gun Monday and was playing with itin the front yard when he shot himself in the head.

Jazmein Wiggins is out of jail on unsecured bond.
