Woman Seriously Injured in Cary Crash
Posted April 27, 1997
CARY — A car and a pickup truck collided Sunday afternoon on a rainy stretch of the Cary Parkway.
The woman driving the car was injured seriously enough to lead emergency personnel to call for Duke Hospital's Lifeflight helicopter. First, however, firemen and EMS personnel worked on her as she lay on a gurney.
A nearby resident, who happened to have a video camera with him, taped the aftermath. He said the neighborhood had been trying to get a traffic light installed because the area has been the scene of multiple wrecks and a fatality last year.
Identity of those in Sunday's crash has not been made public, nor are details available on the status of the driver of the pick-up truck.
Police continue their investigation.
