DURHAM — The Durham County Fire Marshall's office and the Parkwood Volunteer Fire Department are working to save lives in their area.
Thursday, members spent the day installing smoke detectors in homes in the Kentington Heights area of Durham County. The group also dropped off fire safety information packets in each home.
Several studies have proved that smoke detectors save lives.
