The man pictured in a composite drawing at left is suspected in atleast nine different abductions orabduction attempts, but hasnot targeted any particular area. He has chosen areas near schools bothwithin the city limits and in outlying areas of the county, and hasreleased each of the children he abducted. He most oftenapproaches in a light-colored car, often coming from behind, and in somecases threatens to harm the children he stalks.
So far, he has managed to elude police, but police are battling back bygiving tips directly to students. Sgt. Steve McIntosh of the FayettevillePolice Department spoke to children at school.
Fellow first-grader Michael Cheatham says he learned something, too.
Sgt. McIntosh emphasized to the children that they should never getinto a stranger's car.

The man is believed to be between 25 and 30-years-old and may bedriving a light-colored 1980's model Monte Carlo or Grand Prix.
