RALEIGH — Raleigh police have found the body of a North Carolina State student who was reported missing near midnight Sunday night. The body was found in Lake Johnson on Avent Ferry Road.
The missing 19-year-old was last seen by a group of friends he had accompanied to the lake. Police searched on foot, by air, and in a boat equipped with an underwater camera.
The lake is used for drinking water and for non-motorized boating. Swimming is not permitted there.
The search began Sunday night when some State fraternity members reported their friend missing. They had apparently been swimming. There was concern about the cold temperatures Sunday night.
