RALEIGH — The North Caroline State Forest Service has lifted its red flag warning on the threat of forest fires, but the threat is hardly over. There was another fire in a wooded area of Wake County Friday.

Experts predicted that debris left behind by Hurricane Fran would create quite a fire hazard in wooded areas.

Firefighting crews working on the Friday fire that broke out in Cary say it never threatened any homes. They do not believe the fire was intentionally set.
