ROCKY MOUNT — A man who modified one of the vehicles used in a fatal drag race may go to jail for his part in the incident.
Devance Morgan, 45, allegedly helped modify a 1982 Pontiac Firebird that raced a Camaro in Nash County last December. That illegal race ended in tragedy when the cars slammed into a crowd of spectators, killing two people.
Morgan is charged with aiding and abetting manslaughter and speed competition. He has been released on bond.
