The students began setting up camp not long after the team cut down thenets in Syracuse as winner of the East Regional. The Tar Heel held off alate rally from the Louisville Cardinals to earn a fourth appearance tothe Final Four since 1990. (The team has advanced to the Final Four ineach of the odd-numbered years of this decade.)
"I'm Tar Heel born. I'm Tar Heelbred, and when I die I'm Tar Heel dead," said UNC student Chris Clark,reciting the lines to the North Carolina fight song. "And by God, I'mgoing to the Final Fourif I can."
Students had to brave near-freezing temperatures early Monday, but theclimate was expected to be kinder -- about 40 -- early Tuesday.
"It was pretty cool last night, buttoday it's better," Clark said. "I can still feel myfinger. So it's OK."
Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
