DURHAM — A plan to beef up Durham's police force is running into money problems.
A homicide task force says Durham needs to hire 20 new officers to patrol high crime areas.
With the costs of training and salary for 20 new officers, the price tag would exceed $600,000.
That's money the city says it does not have.
