RALEIGH — State lawmaker Sam Ellis was in session today, recovering from a deadly car crash yesterday.
Representative Sam Ellis was driving on U.S. 70 in Garner when his truck smashed into a car trying to turn across traffic. 65-year-old Ruby Dunn of Selma died in the crash. Her husband, Paul, is still in the hospital.
Ellis was treated for back and neck pain before being released last night. Police say they probably won't file any charges in the case.
