CARY — Red is a great color. For balloons, lollipops and nearby N.C. State University. But residents of the Lochmere subdivision blanched when they saw it on the roof of a new home in their neighborhood.
Saying the roof was out of keeping with the general tenor of the toney subdivision, residents considered bringing suit to have the roof replaced or painted in a quieter color.
Now, on advice of attorneys, they have decided to drop any action.
And the builder of the house says it's still for sale -- with its eye-catching red roof -- for $650,000.
