SALISBURY — A Rowan County boy is in the hospital after allegedly being shot by a friend.
Officers say a 7-year-old picked up a gun and shot his 10-year-old friend in the stomach. Then the younger child tossed the gun into a creek.
Authorities say they aren't sure yet to whom the gun belongs.
The 10-year-old is in the intensive care unit.
