SMITHFIELD — Traffic on Interstate-95 in Johnston County finally began moving again late Friday afternoon after an accident involving 11 vehicles.
The pile-up involved eight cars and three tractor-trailers just south of Smithfield. Paramedics rushed at least four injured people to the hospital.
Troopers say the wreck was apparently a chain-reaction started with a risky move on the part of one driver. They have not said yet which, if any, drivers will be charged.
