Drive-By Shooting Victim Improves

RALEIGH — A Raleigh child who was struck by gunfireduring a drive-by shooting last month is recovering and will be going homesoon.

Jermaine Huggins was shot in the stomach while playing on the frontporch of his house. After three operations and 13 days in intensive care,the 4-year-old is in a private room. Beverly Huggins says her son isexpected to make a full recovery.

Beverly Huggins says local church groups have helped her family find anew home so they can leave the neighborhood where Jermaine was shot.
