DURHAM — A grand jury has indicted the man police saywas drunk when he allegedly caused a fatal accident. Timothy Blackwellfaces charges of murder, habitual DWI and four counts of assault with adeadly weapon.
Police say Blackwell smashed into a minivan in Durham County lastThursday, killing a child and injuring four of her family members.
Blackwell, who has been convicted of DWI before, returns to court nextweek.
Meanwhile, a memorial fund for 4-year-old Megan Elizabeth Dail, who waskilled in the accident, has been set up at BB&T Banks all over theTriangle. The fund will help pay for funeral and medical expenses, andhelp replace the two family vehicles which were involved in the accident.
Megan Dail was buried Monday.
