MOUNT HOLLY — Police are investigating a grocery store robbery in Mount Holly that bears an eerie similarity to one in Raleigh three years ago.
Two workers at a Mount Holly Food Lion say a gunman threatened to kill them during a pre-dawn robbery. Both workers claim they were forced to lie face down on the floor while the gunman cleaned out cash registers.
Two North Raleigh Food Lion employees were shot to death during a similar robbery in 1993. Brothers, Robert and Elmer Ray McNeill were convicted of that crime.
